Ryan Gardner

MEMBER AND MANAGER

JD, CPA, MTAX, LLM IN TAX

After spending ten years working in massive law firms, I wanted out and needed something (anything) that made my drives and heart come back alive. I was either going to stop practicing law altogether, or see if I could develop a different law practice. Thank God, He guided me to develop a law practice dependent on Him and love for people.  I truly enjoy my practice of law and love helping my clients. In the ten years at the massive law firms, I only knew a billable hour quota; now I know my clients and some of their families, and take pride in serving their interests.

I am a tax attorney with over ten years of experience working for international law firms in Houston, Texas and Columbia, South Carolina including Locke Lord Bissell & Liddell LLP, Haynes and Boone, LLP, Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP and Fulbright & Jaworski LLP. During this time I worked on tax matters relating to mergers and acquisitions, private equity offerings, public offerings and private equity funds to name a few. I also spent considerable time in tax litigation primarily involved in partnership discount cases, son-of-boss transactions, source of income, transfer pricing and various other matters. I have represented clients in the United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Federal Claims.

In addition to being a tax attorney, I have been a certified public accountant since 1992, and practiced in public accounting for approximately five years and thereafter worked as a loan officer for approximately three years prior to attending Baylor law school.

I started my formal education at the University of Texas with a degree in accounting. I received my Masters in Tax and Juris Doctorate from Baylor University. I also obtained a Masters in Law - Tax Concentration (LL.M) from University of Houston.

I am a tax and corporate attorney and will do whatever I can, through the law, to help protect and serve the officers and military at substantially reduced, to nominal rate.

In addition to the wonderful world of tax, I spend time with my wife, Amy, and our two sons, Travis and Brandon. Like a true Texan, I enjoy all things outdoors, especially hunting, and Texas Longhorn football. I am involved with my church and try to keep my eyes on Him and His plan for me, our family and my practice.
